Cast - Season 3 |
the greatest tv drama Buffy the Vampire Slayer No other show in the history of television has been able to so deftly combine elements of drama, comedy, horror, action, suspense, and mystery as well as Buffy the Vampire Slayer did in its seven seasons. Buffy had an excellent cast, a great writing team and a mastermind for a creator - Joss Whedon. The show expertly wove everyday crises into its mythical plotlines and was able to grow with its characters. It progressed from the problems faced as a teenager (high school, fitting in, dating, angst) to college (roommates, classes) and finally to adulthood (marriage, love, sacrifice, grief, and death). Unfortunately, due to the fact that it was on the WB and UPN and it was spawned from the horrible, campy movie of the same name, Buffy never got the credit it was due. So, I've taken it upon myself to alert the world (or, at least, the people I know) of this show's greatness. Sarah Michelle Gellar made her name here, and for good reason. She carried the show by presenting a character with equal parts strength and vulnerability. The supporting cast was near legendary and proved throughout the seven-year run that they could sustain major plotlines and, in some cases, entire episodes. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was simply great television. It was dark, funny, thrilling and mesmerizing. My only fault lies in wishing that everyone would appreciate and love it as much as I do. |
