The New Pornographers

This is one of the CDs I got for Christmas, and I have been listening to it frequently ever since.  The New Pornographers have a good and unique indie rock sound with great hooks and interesting lyrics.  This album, along with their debut Mass Romantic, is upbeat and catchy without being formulaic and trite like many acts that, unfortunately, sell more albums.  They use many styles ranging from pop to alt-country to guitar-driven rock, and it all sounds cohesive and practically effortless.  You couldn't ask for much more from a rock album.  On a side note, Neko Case, who contributes on a few tracks here, has a fantastic voice that demands to be heard.
